We serve five different communities so our feeding programs take many shapes and sizes, depending on the need of the community. We have two feeding programs that provide a meal each Saturday to 100+ children, one on Entoto Mountain and one in Yirg’alem, Ethiopia. This is a nutritious meal that the children look forward to as part of a Saturday program. We also have a school feeding program that feeds about 50+ students each day AT school. These students have been identified by teachers as the neediest of their class and the lunch they receive allows them to focus in class. Lastly, in special circumstances such as the pandemic, we provide food packages to families in need. Why do we have feeding programs in addition to family sponsorship? We want to enable the families we serve to begin thinking beyond survival, which starts with meeting their basic need for food.
