I cannot explain just how life changing this trip was.  So many doors were opened.  It was so neat being on the other end of everything this time.  This time I was traveling with my sister and I got

Ethiopia 2008

After a long awaited adoption we traveled to Ethiopia in Sept , 2008 to pick up our 4 year old son.  While there, besides being totally blessed by our new son, our eyes were opened beyond words.

Reaches Out

Many thanks goes out to everyone who donated their time, money, resources, and their hearts to making sure that Project Backpack 2009 was a huge success. We all showed up at the Nashville Rescue Mission’s Women’s Shelter at the Family Life Center and passed out backpacks, supplies, snacks, and goodies to the little ones as well as their mothers. You should have seen their little faces light up with joy and excitement as they were handed
their brand new backpacks filled with
supplies to get them ready for the school
year. Many hearts were touched not only
in the children and their mothers but also
our volunteers and their children who
showed up to help. These children are
precious and I was thrilled that all the
Ordinary Heroes involved could join forces
and come together to brighten the day of these little ones.

Halloween Outreach 2009
What a great outreach we had this year.  Over 20 children from the Nashville Rescue Mission Homeless Shelter and their mothers joined us at our annual Fall Festival Outreach at Bethel World Outreach Center.  There were three raffle drawings at the fall festival this year.  One was for a laptop computer and two were for ipods.  Well wouldn’t you know that God would have it that all three prizes were won by 3 different moms from the mission.  They were so thankful.  We had a great time and this event always blesses everyone involved.
