What is a WAITING CHILD?
Definition of WAIT:
1.To stay in a place or remain inactive or in anticipation until something expected takes place.
2.To be ready or at hand.
3.To remain temporarily undone or neglected.
This definition describes millions of orphans around the world. They stay in one place, waiting with anticipation to be chosen into a family. They are ready, expecting, yet day after day they sit and wait for a family to call their own. Some will find one, and some will not. I adopted an older waiting child from Ethiopia and have seen first hand, the life changing power of adoption. I now make it part of the mission of Ordinary Hero to advocate for waiting children across the world. I met the boy in the above picture on a mission trip to Ethiopia last July. He was living in an orphanage waiting to be chosen into a family. A wife, and mom of two already, jumped on board our mission trip last minute. This same mom unexpectedly fell in love with this little boy, and chose him for adoption. He now lives in my community and happens to be one of my cutie models for my site. We are not kidding when we say you can CHANGE THE WORLD FOR ONE. Look at him now. Kelly Putty
